August 19, 2025, Washington, DC — Daniel M. Eggleston and Curtis A. Orshoski of Lee/Shoemaker PLLC presented the lunch and learn for AIA-Northern Virginia, “Standard of Care and Contractual Risk: An Architect’s Guide to Professional Liability,” to over 100 registrants. During the course of the program, Daniel and Curt reviewed the legal implications of the standard of care, distinguished between negligence and professional judgment, and analyzed key contract clauses that affect risk—such as indemnification and liability limitations, before providing practical strategies for reducing risk through communication, documentation, and negotiation.
